The English Premier League will have only seven gambling sponsors next season. The government has not explicitly prohibited gaming sponsors.
Cinch now has “considerable brand exposure.”
English Premier League (EPL) team Crystal Palace will replace gaming sponsor W88 with Cinch as its major uniform sponsor next season.
Cinch, a fast-developing online vehicle marketplace, will be branded on Palace’s new jersey front. The removal of W88 Mobile from jerseys brings the number of gaming-advertised clubs in the EPL to eight out of the league’s twenty total, even though Spreadex Sports-sponsored Burnley has been demoted and will also be departing the company.
Examining the Crystal Ball
Cinch will access the front of Palace’s jerseys and critical advertising on the team’s website as part of the multi-year agreement. The lock will also get “substantial brand exposure” through the academy teams, Selhurst Park (Palace’s home stadium), and digital content.
Cinch is a well-known, family-friendly, and instantly identifiable brand throughout the United Kingdom.”
“Cinch is a well-established, family-friendly, and instantly identifiable brand across the UK and beyond,” said Barry Webber, Crystal Palace’s commercial director. “This is a fascinating time for our relationship to begin as we approach our tenth consecutive Premier League season with a team brimming with international quality.”
According to the W88 team, Crystal Palace had a successful season last year, finishing 12th in the EPL, its highest result in the previous three seasons. It also only lost 12 games, the fewest in Premier League history and the fewest in the top flight since the 1990-91 season.
In Patrick Vieira’s first season as manager at Selhurst Park, a young team led by midfielder Conor Gallagher, who won Player of the Season and has since returned to Chelsea after a successful loan, and defenders Marc Geuhi and Tyrick Mitchell did well.
Chair of Constellation Automotive Group, which owns Cinch, Avril Palmer-Baunack is thrilled to work with such a dynamic group.
“We’re counting on working with the clubs, fans, and local community, and we want the club to win it all next season.”
